Wow, is that the impression people in other parts of the world have about people in the US?! NOT true here - some days I don't even turn our TV on. I have a couple of favorite shows that I watch when I can but otherwise, the TV is a waste of time. We DO have DirecTV but only because we are in a remote area of the mountains and without satellite we would have no TV at all. But we have only the non-premium channels - and even with the hundreds of channels we receive sometimes there is nothing on worth watching - turn the TV off and sit on the deck to watch the REAL stars come out!
